The Top 5 Reasons I Loved Attending Permutation 2014 & Wizard World Nashville Comic Con

Yes, I was there. I looked like I was dressed normally, wearing my Soulsnatcher T-shirt, blue jeans, and white high-top Reeboks, but I was actually in costume. I was dressed as Mick Jagger as he would appear in outer space after the sun had bleached his hair blond. You be the judge: Should I have won the costume contest? Okay, no. But I saw lots of awesome costumes and outrageous characters there, among them numerous Walking Dead, The Joker and Harley Quinn, Mr. Incredible, the Ghostbusters, several characters whom I had no idea who they were dressed as, and about 20 different Batmans.

I spent about an hour at the Permuted Press booth signing and selling paperback copies of my paranormal thriller Soulsnatcher, trading off the author spotlight position with various other Permuted Press authors throughout the convention.

The rest of my time at the convention was spent wandering the aisles and booths and perusing the various wares offered. Numerous talented artists displayed their impressive artwork, and there were crafts, comics, and figurines galore. When I wasn't carousing the convention booths, I was partying with my fellow Permuted Press authors in the stylish Permuted Apocalypse Survivors Coach parked outside Music City Hall in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. A splendid time was had by all.

So without further ramblings, here is my top 5 reasons I loved attending Permutation 2014 and Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, in descending order of my favorites:

Reason #1: I got the honor and pleasure of meeting several of my fellow Permutants (Permuted Press authors), among them but not limited to Jackie Druga, Ted Hill, David M. Salkin, Sean T. Smith, Jake Bible, Shane Gregory, Diane Sager, Derek Goodman, James Crawford, and the intimidatingly pretty Tina Clark. I'm so glad I met you all!

Reason #2: I know I already said this, but I got the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting the amazingly talented writer Jackie Druga! Let me tell you, this lady is on top of her writing and marketing game. She shared so much valuable info about self-promotion that it's going to take me weeks to digest and implement it all. Best of all, other than the sheer pleasure of her company (she's a funny, intelligent, sexy, and wacky-in-the-best-possible-way lady), she has invited me as a guest author on her Apocalypse Nana Show October 30, 2014... just in time for Halloween, woo-hoo! Come join us and tune in for the show here! Thanks Jackie, and I look forward to sharing our literary conquests together for many years to come. (No, I'm not stoned or drunk in that pic; I just look that way because the camera taunts me, lol.)

Reason #3: I got the honor and pleasure of meeting some of the fantastic, friendly, and fabulous Permuted Press staff: President Michael L. Wilson, Managing Editor and Director Katie Dornan, Associate Art Director David Walker, Royalties Analyst Holly Pisarchuk, Production Manager Ryne Driscoll, and owner Anthony Ziccardi. So glad I got the opportunity to meet you all, and I look forward to working with you!

Reason #4: I got to hang out on the awesome, stylish, and classy Permuted Apocalypse Survivors Coach with my fellow Permutants. Walking around the Wizard World Convention and back and forth to the Permuted Coach Saturday, I swear I must have walked 20 miles throughout the day, which means I got a hell of a lot of good exercise too, lol.

Reason #5: I got to attend the dinner/ mixer at the Permuted Press offices Saturday night, and shoot the shit with my fellow authors and the Permuted staff -- great food, great company, and a great time. We had a blast all weekend!
